Cool. Thank you. The missing piece in my puzzle seems to have been that I didn't put the Recent Posts widget in the sidebar. Once I did that everything started working as expected.

Hi there,

It sounds like you assigned a static page for the home page. The theme has a built-in home page that shows the map and all the items on the map. Make sure you leave the settings on the "reading" page set to the default "show latest blog posts". Do not set a static home page as this will override the themes built-in map home page.

I'm sure it's me, but searching through the forum I can't find the answer to this problem. Home page was showing the map with the first address post until I included a default background image URL. Now I get the default background image on the home page. And no longer see the featured item section at bottom left of the home page screen. Help?
