I was expereincig the same issue...

No plugin seems to work...

I have partially solved the issue deleting the line <?php echo date('l F jS, Y');?> in header.php and inserting in the same place the line <?php echo date_i18n( get_option( 'date_format' ), strtotime( '11/15-1976' ) ); ?>

This will localize the time format (but the day it will not be showed...)

The theme is using a standard WordPress function to display date information, which is entirely generated/controlled by WordPress. I'm not aware of anything theme-related to suggest that would help address any translation issues you're having.

My best suggestion at this point would be to search the WordPress forums for a solution to the issue you're having: http://wordpress.org/support

The date language is controlled by WordPress. If you're having trouble translating, maybe try this plugin? https://wordpress.org/plugins/date-translate/

All the translation is done. The date still in english :(
Of course, for a website in french, it's not very pretty lol
