How do you add a background only on the main page?

IE 7 & 8 don't support that function, but 9 does, as you've seen.

I checked on IE9, it seems to work. Will there be any other issues?

Correct, that won't work in IE though - just a heads up...

Never mind, I found the answer. To those interested use this code:

-moz-border-radius: 15px;
border-radius: 15px;
}
"-moz-border-radius" is used for firefox problems. See more info on rounded corners here: http://www.css3.info/preview/rounded-border/

For both questions:

border: 10px solid
#F2EFED;
padding: 10px ;
background: #efefef;
}

Replace the background code with an HTML color of your choice - you can just Google around and find the hex value.

Another related question- I think I will use the border as is but on a colored background. How do I add/change the color underneath the text (which is the excerpt from the blogpost) that is below the photo?

With that said, please remove the border that you added here:

Hi, following up on the original question, the solution provided only puts a border around the image. The example given shows the image and text inside a box. is it possible to have a box contain the image and text together in that way? I am referring to this example: http://www.satellitevoices.com/.

You'll need to do something similar to what's below, only replacing your image file with the example:

element.style {
background: url("images/example.jpg") repeat fixed 0 0 #FFFFFF;
}

This won't be exact to your example site, but it should get close. Let me know if that helps!

Hi,

You won't be able to get different colors for each different post, but you can set a custom border that will be applied to each of your featured posts.

Go to Appearance > Theme Options > Theme Design > scroll down and type the following into the "Custom CSS (optional) field:

div.post a.thumbLink img {
border: 5px solid #444444;

If the border is too thick, decrease the 5. You may swap out #444444 with the hex color value of your choice. You can find that here: http://html-color-codes.info/

Hopefully that helps you out! I'm not positive which background you're referring to for your post... please explain in further detail.
