Hi Manishn, I've since switched themes. But I think to get three columns layout, after activated the plugin I set the "Column Count for Content" to 1 in "Customization > General" and then in the TEXT editor of the page I used:

[column size="1/3"] Column 1 Content [/column]
[column size="1/3"] Column 2 Content [/column]
[column size="1/3"] Column 3 Content [/column]

Good luck!

Thanks for following up! :-)

If you're enjoying the theme, please don't forget to rate in on your downloads page on ThemeForest. Positive ratings REALLY help me out.

Best,

Thanks for the reply. I have re-set the column count to 1, but the shortcodes still do not work. I use this specific "Columns Shortcodes" plugin on my other sites, so I'm sure I am using it properly, but there does still seem to be an issue here.

Hi there,

Don't set the column count to "0". Set it to "1" as you would need at least a single column (i.e. full 100% width) for the content to sit inside.

Also, be sure you're properly using the shortcodes. Nothing theme-based should be preventing you from using a shortcode plugin. If you encounter any issues with the plugin, you'll need to either try a different plugin (there are lots of options) or contact the plugin developer as I'm not able to provide support for plugins.

Hope that helps.

Best,

Chris

Thank you for your reply, Chris.

My goal is to be able to control what content is delivered in what column. So for instance if I have the theme set to two columns, and I have three paragraphs of text, I want the ability to be able to put paragraph one in left column and paragraphs two and three in right column.

So if I understand correctly, Option 2 above would work best for me. I have set the "Column Count for Content" to 0 in "Customization > General". I have installed and activated "Column Shortcodes" and have used the shortcodes in the text editor but nothing seems to be happening. Is there any reason why this particular plugin wouldn't work specifically with the theme? I can PM you site/password, if you need.

Hi there,

You have a couple options...

1. Use the built-in column feature of the theme by selecting (1) a site-wide column setting on the Customize page and/or (2) using the custom option on post/page edit screens to override the site-wide column setting and set the number of columns you want for that specific post or page.

2. Set the theme column setting to "0" and use a column shortcode for additional control. There are many free column shortcode plugins to try. Column Shortcodes is a popular one: http://tinyurl.com/klhldoc

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

I would also be interested in column break control, or an optiokn to set column count to one or zero, so I can control the layout.
