I'm not sure why this is occurring. By default, the calendar should display in ascending chronological order as you can see on the demo site.

Couple things...

1. Be sure that you have a main parent event category (i.e. "Events") that have child categories assigned (i.e. "Concerts", "Music", etc.). You then need to make sure your main "Events" category is assigned as the calendar category in the calendar settings on the Customize page.

2. Deactivate all plugins.

we need to put in chronological order (ascending) the events that appear in the calendar. Here's our theme: http://www.mypraguevent.cz
As you can see, we upload many events per month and it's a problem for users that need to find an event.
