I totally understand the reasoning for the theme page reading "WordPress Politico 1.0 by Chris Molitor" but is it possible to get rid of the "Theme designed and developed by THE MOLITOR" that appears on the bottom of the Wordpress admin?

Yeah, you can change that. The text is located in the "footer.php" template file. Just open it in the WordPress editor and change it.

Am I allowed to get rid of "Designed and developed by The Molitor" and if so how do I go about doing this? See example below:
