Great theme. Would also be very interested in this function being added. I have a mix of video, photo and text posts on my site and feel the text doesn't get the attention it deserves due to the narrow area.

Hi,

I seem to have run into the same issue. I was completely sold on this theme from the get go. I'm trying to build a showcase site that holds everything from imagery and video to blogposts and the Brick+Mason theme blends them together in a great and minimal way. My site does have to be able to facilitate text-heavy posting, and sadly that seems to be lacking as it turns out.... I'd love it if the templates could be added to the posts as well as to the pages, because that would make this an absolute killer-theme...

Any update on this? I am not digging the blog layout. It will look good on a phone but on a computer you can easily not see the post. Plus how do you add multiple images in the blog post? Thanks guys.

Hi guys,

Could anyone who's done this outline the steps needed to do this?
I saw that finalrevision did this by recreating the fullWidth id for the blog - can anyone outline more specifically how to do this?

Thanks so much!

Hi guys,

I'd definitely be interested in blog page layouts similar to those that motti_b posted above.

My blog post styles will differ greatly from purely images/video to full length word only posts.

My site is at http://www.mattpycroft.com (it's currently being developed), and if you'd like to you can contact me at mattpycroft@hotmail.co.uk

All the best,

Matt

*Edit*: The idea final revision had above would be great also. If anyone would be able to help I'd be very grateful.

Hi,

I was reading in the forum that you are interested in having a blog post like a page. check out my blog (just adding fake posts for now and setting it up but you can see that I have two blog posts that are page style:
http://www.blogbymotti.com/mahnaz/
http://www.blogbymotti.com/video-anyone/
http://www.blogbymotti.com/images-in-a-raw/

These are posts not pages. If you are interested I will e-mail you the instructions and the extra PHP files i created. I hope you know CSS and HTML, use it at your own risk :-)

Cheers,
Motti

Hey, Chris!

No worries. I figured out how to change the blog post layout to meet my needs. It's not a fancy solution, but essentially I just recreated the fullWidth id for the blog (among some smaller changes elswhere) -- a quick and dirty, but effective solution. :)

Here's an example (these links will eventually change, ftr): http://www.lingerinktester.com/2011/07/nimbona-2/

Best,

Chris,

Great theme! I love it and am using it to develop content for a local nonprofit (here it is in beta on my tester site: http://www.lingerinktester.com/

I, too, am wondering if you would be able to change the blog layout to a page layout. The photo-portfolio bias of the blog is the only feature that I don't think quite fits with this project.

Any thoughts on when you might implement an upgrade?

Thanks, Chris!

--Chris (as well)

BTW, I also recently bought "The Navigator" theme to use for a composition assignment in a writing class that I am teaching in the fall. We're going to use it to develop content for a site that profiles our local community. Kudos! I love it!

Yeah that would work great! If certain categories could allow for different templates of how posts would be shown (full width, traditional, portfolio for example), you could allow for everything to be shown through posts and categories, and more importantly, allow for it all to be shown through imagery on the front page, such as an "about me" section, rather than being constricted to having it display only on the top menu.

Thanks for the feedback. I can certainly work on an update for this. Question, would having a category drop down in the settings work? For example, all categories you select would display the post in "traditional" format.

Hey Chris,

Great theme. I''ve had little trouble setting up our site so far. Really like the amount of customization involved, and especially how easy it is to move around through the site.

I was, however, wondering if there was a way to have certain posts on the site (a text heavy blog portion) appear more like the page formatting (full width or otherwise), but still retain the similar characteristics of how posts interact with the website (appear on the front page, etc.). Mainly, I'd like to be able to type/present text and imagery for a certain category of posts in the traditional format, instead of having it appear on the left side of the browser window.

Thanks so much.
