Hi,

I found out that the numbers for the categories are the category IDs which can be
shown in the Admin area by different plugins for example the lightweight plugin "WP Show IDs".

Hi,

thanks to SashaAngel I finally found the right solution for the problem. Changing the numbers in the following line in the Theme´s index.php

$wp_query->query('order=ASC&cat='.$timelineMain.'&showposts=2000');

after the "cat=" made it work in my case. I found the combination "3,3"

$wp_query->query('order=ASC&cat=3,3'.$timelineMain.'&showposts=2000');

showed only the posts with the "Art" category correctly in the Main Timeline on the
frontpage. I dont know why three is right, because my "Art" category is not the third one, but why bother if it works :-))
The combination "1,1" gives me all uncategorized posts showing up on Main Timeline. So just try some combinations...

Thanks again to SashaAngel and I hope this will help the other Users to solve their problems as well.

I have the same problem. On the main timeline (http://rmarchive.blueplusyellow.com) it is displaying all of the posts. In the theme options, I have selected only "art" and "video"...

I changed the direction of the timeline to DSC, but it was displaying all of the posts before I made this edit, so that is not the source of the problem.

Thanks for the great theme, your help is very appreciated, please advise

I did the following:
1. He opened a theme file index.php
2. Line 21 is rigidly ordered, comma category required me to bring $wp_query->query('order=ASC&cat=1,4'.$timelineMain.'&showposts=2000');

Another option to correct the situation is not found! I think the author of the theme to modify the time of withdrawal!

Hi,

just forgot to publish the second one. Did it now. I unfortunately could not solve
the problem. It still is like before: both category mails (one with "art" one with "drawing" show up at the frontpage. I paused my website plans until the issue is solved. As said, WP is fresh installed - no additional plugins (only Akismet and Hello Dolly - both deactivated)
The Curator Theme as well freshly installed.

Thanks for helping...

regards

hi
There is a similar problem! No matter what categories are connected to display in the template and show entries of others, but not those that are required!

Hi Chris,

here a description what I did (again) to get the Theme work correctly regarding
timeline appearances of posts with different assigned categories:

Deleted Wordpress database.
Reinstalled a fresh english Wordpress .
Installed "The Curator" Theme freshly.
Didn´t install any third party plugin.
Created the categories "art" and "drawing"
Set "Main Timeline Category" to "art".
Set "Timeline Category" to "drawing"
Created a menu with category "drawing"
Created one post with assigned category "art" with the title "art category".
Created one post with assigned category "drawing" with the title "drawing category".
Puplished the two posts.

--> result:

Both posts appear on homepage main timeline -- but they shouldn´t, because I only assigned
the category "art" and NOT "drawing".
The post with assigned category "drawing" appears also in the menu "drawing" as it should because
I assigned the category "drawing" to it.

##### You can check the site under:
http://www.nicolaj-dudek.de/wpseite/

Now after reinstalling WP and The curator the second time just fresh from the ground I suppose the
mistake must exist somewhere else? Some special rights for some folders or files?
But not being a programmer I need your help in this case.
And there seems to be the same problem also with the user "hankisaac":
http://www.themolitor.com/forums/topic/all-posts-are-showing-instead-of-categories-i-selected

The problem in my case is, that I need this kind of structure for my homepage because I only want to
show one kind of works on the frontpage. In y our videos this

Thanks for your help and answer in advance

Nikodemus0
