Hi there,

Are you adjusting the images via the WordPress editing tools? If so, you'll need to regenerate your thumbnails so they use the new size of the images.

Let me know if that helps.

I'm aware it needs to be adjusted. I'm looking for solutions on how to adjust it please. Your previous suggestion of cropping it and the 16:9 isn't adjusting the featured image size. It only adjusts in the editing field, but nothing changes on the actual site. Please advise: theirbnb.tv. Thank you

Hi there,

They all look much better now. There are just a few that still need to be adjusted. For example... http://theirbnb.tv/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/rsz_lacastingimg_6365pp-1.jpg

Hope that helps!

I've tried that. It still does not work. Although it changes the image while I'm in the "edit" box, the featured image does not change. (I have "apply all images" checked). The featured image remains the original size, although the image is resized everywhere including in the media bin. I've even tried removing the image completely and starting over. Still nothing. Please advise. I go live soon! site: theirbnb.tv

Hi there,

That's because the images are cropped to fit within the 700x450 dimensions. If an image has a landscape orientation, then there is not much cropping. If an image has a portrait orientation, then there will be a good amount of cropping above and below the image.

To have a more consistent layout/design, I recommend resizing your images to 16:9 dimensions (i.e. add white space to the sides to make it horizontal) so that they fit better with the layout of the theme.

Let me know if that solution works okay for you.

Hi there,

Sorry, I got my themes confused :-)

You're right, there is only one overlay setting. You can target pages specifically via CSS like this...

body.category-cast #headerImages:after {
    opacity: 0.9;
}

Hope that helps!

Best,

1. Ok, I will find other images! Thank you.

2. I can not see that content/no content. Should it be under customising header image? There is only this Image Overlay Transparency that I can drag. I am not sure I understand :-) But eventually I have to make the text more bright, like I did in the more info box. You gave me a CSS for that. Is it possible to have the description for the cast member being with bright text as well? That could solve my problem. Thank you!

Hi there,

1. The images you're using are not large enough to be properly cropped as they are all portrait-sized images. The space is really intended for landscape/16:9 images, so my best suggestion is to either use different images or manually edit them to better fit a 16:9 space. Example edit: http://s33.postimg.org/jrre6viwu/Kristen.jpg

2. There are two overlay settings (content/no content). The Content setting applies to pages and categories. There currently is not a page-by-page option.

Hope that helps!

Best,

Christopher

And regarding question no 2. re the overlay transparency, there is one place where I can change it in the header images section of the customize page but then it affects my homepage and I want that to be all clear :-) . Is it possible to have different overlay transparency for different pages?

Hi there,

1. The theme tells WordPress to crop the images that you upload to 700x450 and size them automatically for you. Is that not happening? Can you provide a link?

2. From the header images section of the Customize page, you have a couple overlay transparency settings there.

Let me know. Here to help.

Best,

I have some more questions regarding the cast category.

1. If I want my cast page to look like the demo, same size of images where do I change that? I can not really see any settings or do I change the image?

2. Also when going further in to a cast member I can see on the demo that the image in the background has less opacity so it is easier to read the text, where do I control that?

Thank you! I love the theme, it looks great!
