It's setup.
I made a Page, and use it as a static front page.

The featured image is moved to the right and there's no excerpt...

Theonly solution seems to use posts, and use a category for the "front page"

Please tell me if you need access to the admin area.

I understand now that the featured image is displayed big on the left side in a post, but when I use a page the image looks shifted to the right and without an excerpt. I can make a page like this so you can see the problem.

I'm not sure I understand. Can you provide a link to the page you're having trouble with?

The home page on the demo site is using the standard "latest posts" option for the front page. You don't need to assign a page for the front page to have it look like the demo site.

When I add a page it results in the layout moved, if use the featured image.

The only way seems to be using posts.

How you achive your home page?
