Thanks for this explanation, the client only wanted one image attached to the posts so I misunderstood that there would be left and right buttons. Thanks for you help. I finished up the site and it looks great! I am not unsubscribing from the topic.
PS, you are most responsive so will look into your other themes next time I need a new one!

Hi there,

For The Curator, you do not need to edit HTML for the left/right buttons to work. The left/right buttons only apply to images attached to the same post. Please refer to the demo site for reference: http://themes.themolitor.com/curator/

When you click an image on the demo site, you'll notice that you are only viewing the images that have been attached to that post. Images are attached to a post when you upload them from the post edit page (you do not need to insert them into the post, just upload them).

Please let me know if that helps clarify how the plugin/theme works.

Best,

Christopher

So i downloaded the folder and compressed it then uploaded as a zip file for a plug in, but I would like to add the left and right buttons. In you notes you say what I have copied into this message to you, but I have no idea where I find that html code <a href etc. Do you want me to go into some php code or something? There is no code like that in any given page or post! Other wise the plugin seems to work nicely -- if I have logged out of my wordpress site and tested it.

here is what you said:

Using the Plugin...

After you activate the plugin, it will automatically look for image links (URLs that end with .png, .gif, .jpg or .jpeg). You don't need to do anything else.

Manually Creating a Gallery...

To create a gallery with left/right arrows, simply add rel="zoomBox[gallery]" to the link markup like this...

<a href="URL-TO-IMAGE" rel="zoomBox[gallery]">

...Where do I find the html code?

Thanks. PS you should add a note to your manual and a link to the plug in you wrote! It is worthy!

Right now the only problem I am having is to get the images to enlarge nicely like they do on your test site. Does your zoom box plug in do that??? Or something else. I read in your help I need some lights extension to the url but when I clicked on the url for the image it would not let me edit it. HELP!

Hi there,

The demo site is using a plugin I built (and included with the main download files) called ZoomBox. More information here: http://www.themolitor.com/forums/topic/zoom-box-plugin-by-the-molitor

Regarding walk-through videos, the theme and WordPress have both gone through a series of updates since I did the initial walk-through video. It's possible some features appear differently than they do now. The core functionality of the WordPress options should still be there though.

Please let me know if you still have questions.

Best,

Christopher

I submitted to Chris via form at 11 AM Sept 13.

What is most critical to me is this:

When I click on an image on the Timeline it does not center and look like what is in your demo.

THIS NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED. Is it possible that there is some php code not properly uploaded. If you could tell me where to find it and send me the file I could replace it with the one that is not working nicely. (But I do not know php code, although I do know some old-fashion HTML code.) Maybe you have another solution???

Other issues not affecting my use of your theme but you should be aware…

Looking at the Curator V1.0 Post Creation Walkthrough while looking at my Dashboard items…

When I set a featured image by clicking at the bottom link or going to media and browsing to file it does not give me the option to select a size like your video does. Not sure it will matter, I like to create my longest side (wide or tall at 800 pixels) which I have found adapts most easily to all formats.

In your video you have an upload/insert button right above the options bar and mine does not have that. But I don’t plan to use this option to create a series of images.

Just wondering if this later release of your software is not reflected in your early videos???

FYI: Also, I read everything on this link and already knew how to do all of it. I’ve created maybe thirty different websites with Wordpress and usually create galleries for my clients….

Hi there,

Please post responses in the forum...

1. How do I create a category page?
Category pages are created automatically when you have a category that contains published posts. You can add links to your category pages from the Menus page in the "categories" section under "pages".

2. I am now assuming I need to get rid of the page I made My Time Line and just live with the fact that users will have to click back on the breadcrumb that starts with Home. Correct?
Yes, the home page can only display a timeline by using the "latest post" option.

3. Also, I created lots of pages to hold Wordpress galleries under Works, and I loaded four pics into the drop down for grays and they are all crammed together, unlike what I usually see for galleries. Is there short code or something to make this internal section wider so we see nice white space and 3 or four columns?
For more info about using the WordPress gallery system and changing the layout to better fit your page, please review this article: https://codex.wordpress.org/The_WordPress_Gallery

Let me know if that helps.

Hi there,

The "My Timeline" page you created is just a basic page. Basic pages do not contain post/timeline information. Only category pages will display posts in a timeline, but you need select which categories get the timeline layout on the Customize Page from the "Timeline Settings" section.

Please let me know if that helps.

Best,

Message send to The Molitor about time line not associating with a page I created named My Time LIne.pages

I have looked through the doc that came with your downloads for the Curator theme and also your forum questions and I cannot find anything about the following.

I successfully created a time to appear by default on the home page using the theme Appearance > Customize > Static Front Page selection and selecting the radio button for Your latest Posts, and I created three posts as a test so I could show my client named Lew Graham how it will work. If I change this to A Static Page and select a page I created named My Time Line that appears when clicked in the menu but no images and timeline. I also messed with Settings >Readings and did pretty much the same thing. Your demo has a page named Home that has the Timeline on it! I want to make sure there is a page that is associated with the root, that comes up first but that one can always get back to. Any ideas about what I might need to do?? You theme is quite powerful but I really will only need to do a few things with it. Notice that when you load the site as: http://a15.f99.myftpupload.com/ you see the start of a time line I created, but if you click on My Time Line is does not show you what I created. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP...or the client might want money back!!
