Thanks.

Regarding tweaking the panel to panel navigation, to make it clearer to people who may miss the extra content, I got some mileage out of following this posting: http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/11578/custom-page-links-for-paginated-posts-wp-link-pages-nextpage-quicktag

All I had to do next was extend the navigation boxes a little to be wide enough to include my sub-panel titles, adding this to custom.css:

.pagination a {width:84px;}

Hi there,

To make the numbers appear in the boxes, add the following to the custom CSS..

.pagination a {
 color: #FFFFFF;
 font-size: 11px;
 line-height: 18px;
 text-align: center;
 text-indent: 0;
}

Regarding your other suggestions, those require quite a bit of extra work to achieve and go beyond the level of support I'm able to provide here in the forums. For requests like that, please use this form to submit a customization request: http://themolitor.com/custom

Thanks!

Chris

Dear Chris,

You've been very good in responding to multiple help requests; I appreciate it. Hopefully this is the last for a while.

The people I'm working with building a site with Panels feel that normal internet surfers won't be able to intuit that further content lies in the panels structure of the theme (the small squares to the bottom right of each panel).

While I love the theme, I think they have a point. They ask me to find a more obvious way of including extra content.

Three immediate possibilities occur to me:

1. That there would be submenus off the main menu. I think this is impossible with this theme, because the sub-panels are not pages, but content with the same page.
2. Somehow the squares at the bottom right are made into numbers, or some other way of making it more obvious (to a bonehead) that there is extra content in the panel. Personally, I think it's a shame to mess with the elegant way the theme handles panels, but as I say, the others I'm working with say it is necessary. It should be fairly easy to give these squares numbers, no? Similar to how the share navigation button has a + and x.
3. All sub-panels are made into distinct pages, which would over-populate the menu; or else all content is added to one page without < nextpage > breaks, which would also be a pretty ugly way of moving forward.

The other thing I was thinking about was making, with HTML or whatever, an initial manual menu structure in the opening panel, so people can see and click through to extra content. But then, < nextpage > values are not distinct. Is there a way to make them distinct, so they could be used as anchors, in a way, and then usable to navigate?

For example, < nextpage-x > that could then be used anywhere on the site to refer to a specific part within a page? Or if not < nextpage > is there any other way to create a menu structure people could more visibly see and click through?

Breadcrumbs?

Thanks for any input.
