There is for sure. You can turn off Comments in general by going to Settings > Discussions. But, if you want to turn this off per post, go to Edit that post, and scroll down to the "Discussion" section and uncheck the comments box. If you don't see Discussion, you'll need to click on the "Screen Options" tab in the upper portion of your screen and check off that box before it appears.

Question: Is there a way to eliminate the comment section on the post pages? Just thinking there should have been an option to turn off the comments or to allow comments. Thank you in advance if you can help me.

Thanks for the explanation. Using Posts for a Slider is fairly common in my experience. If you're not using posts on the rest of the site, you can only use them for the Slider and that should be it. There is minimal difference between managing a Slider that uses posts and one that uses pages.

Thanks for the reply. The site I was building out didn't initially have much of a need for "posts." We've made it work by changing some of the strategy to include them in the content marketing, but it would be helpful to be able to use pages in the slider in the future. From the other premium themes I've worked with in the past, being able to choose pages or posts for the slider was a common function. I was hoping that was the case with the university theme as well. Thanks for the kind words! Unfortunately, the slider is built around the Post functionality. Any reason you want to use pages? Perhaps I could suggest an alternative...

Hi. First off-- really like the theme-- especially the back end controls. Works great! I'm running into one issue, however. In the slider, I'd really like to use pages instead of posts. Is that possible? I've searched through the documentation and the forums, but wasn't able to find much on the topic. I'd greatly appreciate any help on this!

My site lives at http://www.myretirement-edu.com, but I have a placeholder widget up for non-logged in users while the site is being built. I can turn that off if you need to see the site. Thanks!
