Hi there,

Great question! There are three main reasons...

1. Quicker and leaner code with less bloat.
2. Less chances to "break" with WordPress updates
3. Ability to use hosted images on sites like imgur.com for faster loading times. This is especially important if you're using an image with a large file size.

Why is there not a button to automatically add the background image for a post instead of cut and paste?
