Hi Chris,

Thanks for your long answer.

No i think you're right ; i re-check your demo and it's doing the same...
So its just an issue with this srcolling bar "on".

The crazy stuff is that i did'nt see it before on your demo or with my first website...and i saw this issue then with many devices with my second one.

So ok, its an issue with a device parameter.

Sorry for my mistake, tought it came from the theme.

Best,

Hi there,

I'm still not 100% sure I understand the issue. Are you referring to the scrollbars showing up?

If so, you appear to have your scrollbar settings to display at all times, which takes up physical space on the page. When you click a post, the body content is set to "overflow:hidden" so that when you scroll the post you're not also scrolling the body of the page.

When you have scrollbars to "always on", this means they will appear/disappear and the page will adjust accordingly.

The reason I didn't see this is because I'm using the default setting on Apple devices where the scroll bar only appears when you're scrolling and does not take up any physical space on the page. So when the scrollbars appear/disappear, it's much more subtle and doesn't cause the content to shift.

The good news is that the vast majority of browsers/devices have scrollbars off by default, so only when scrollbars are set to "always on" will this affect occur.

Unfortunately there really is not way to address that without turning your scrollbars off via device/browser settings.

Please let me know if I misunderstood the issue you're explaining.

Best,

Christopher

Hi there,

I'm not seeing anything like "go and come" on your site when I click a post. When I click on the items, everything appears to be loading and displaying just fine.

Can you describe exactly what steps your taking and the issue you're seeing? I'll try and recreate it on my end.

Best,

Hi there,

i worked hard on it, and all markup on page are now closed.
Two html errors only (at this time) stay at https://validator.w3.org if you will check it.

BUT

Thoses two issues and their content where removed before by me (one is for a blank in a link (not important) caused by a plugin and the other is a bad value link due to google maps attribute on an image)

AND the issue on the post was still here :
"when you clic on the posts, when items open, you can see a little bug making a "go and come" horizontally (back and forth).
We can see that half of a second but still anoying. You can check it everytimes you click to open a post."

(you will see those two html issues on validator.w3.org cause i re-activate this plugin and re-uploaded the image linked to googles maps for plugin author and member genius from forum to check those two cases.

Thoses last issues are not related to the bug of this post, we checked without ANY html errors in https://validator.w3.org <<<< issue bug on posts is still here.

Thanks to look at it please.

Hi there,

If you're not making any edits to the actual theme files, these errors are likely coming from a plugin you have installed AND/OR content you're adding to a post/page/widget text box.

I'm still seeing similar errors with this site. Reference: https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.adp-nuances-chromatiques.com%2F

If you haven't made any code changes to the actual theme files, this means you DO NOT need to access any HTML files, you just need to do the following...

1. Try disabling plugins and run the validation check again.

2. Review all your post/page/widget text that you've added and check for errors (run validation check if you make any changes).

Please understand that my support services do not include troubleshooting errors that are generated outside of the theme.

I see you make reference to errors when checking my demo site, but those are not the same type of errors. Those are mostly suggestions as I'm using certain HTML/CSS that is considered "new" and these validators are not up-to-date with those features.

Your errors are different because some of the markup on your page is "not closed", which can cause all kinds of issues.

To continue troubleshooting here in the forums, it's imperative that you resolve these errors.

Best,

Christopher

cause if i do the same to your demo website, i also see a lot of error in your markup :

Hi Chris,

Strange issue : i've noticed a bug when you clic on the posts, when items open, you can see a little bug making a "go and come" horizontally (back and forth).

We can see that half of a second but still anoying. You can check it everytimes you click to open a post.
(The post window makes this strange move, and at the same time on the right there is also a second scrolling bar that appears and disappears quickly...)

To be noticed i changed the background color of my posts "opened" with this in the custom css :

#ajaxContent {
background-color: rgba(46, 55, 58,
0.79);
}

But even when i remove this code its still the same.
