Unfortunately I'm not able to provide support for issues generated by plugins.

I understand it appears to be a theme issue because switching themes makes the plugin work, but since I don't have any user or developer knowledge of the plugin you're using, I don't have the resources to investigate what the plugin is doing and where the issue is.

My best suggestion is to contact the plugin developer to see if they have any insights.

Steps to Reproduce

1) Install a third-party plugin, ie Clean Testimonials

2) Add a Testimonial

Current Behavior

The Featured Image widget that appears for posts does not display. If I uninstall The Producer theme and install one of the default themes, ie Twenty Fourteen, the Featured Image widget appears correctly. When I re-install The Producer, the Featured Image widget goes away.

Expected Behavior

I would expect that the theme would not interfere with third-party plugins.

Hopefully you can check on this, because I really like the theme, but if it interferes with the plugins I would like to use then it will be a problem.
