Hi there,

To remove the read more link, open up index.php and remove the following on line 39...

<a class="readMore" href="<?php the_permalink() ?>"><?php _e('Read More','themolitor');?> &rarr;</a>

Regarding squished images, please review this FAQ: http://www.themolitor.com/forums/topic/image-resizing-issue

Thanks!

OK, actually after a couple of hours playing around with everything, a plugin I added (easy add thumbnail) took care of everything.

The LAST question I have for you if you a a free moment:

Any Idea how I can remove the "Read More →" link? I do not plan on using it (and when you click on it, the images are shown twice and one is squished).

Thanks again and I look forward to using your beautiful theme!

Thanks, Chris. I am starting to think that setting up and using the premium theme is a little over my skill grade. If I could, I had a couple more questions:

1) How do I add an image without adding the inserting the the image/gallery into the actual post content? (And correspondingly, How do I remove an existing image already inserted into the content/ change "just the part that says to display them in the post?"

2) I was hoping to use the post by email plugin that I instal (so I could just email pics I took of my son and they would just show up automatically on his blog). Is this at all possible using B+M since the image can't be part of the actual post?

If all this goes beyond the standard support you provide for your themes, just let me know and I will understand.

Thanks,
Eric

Hi there,

Switching works just fine. B+M just works a little differently (as many premium themes do). If you think about it, B+M is removing an extra step from the process of creating posts, so it'll be better going forward and will save you a lot of time in the long run...

You don't have to re-upload anything. All I'm saying is that if you have posts where you either inserted an image/gallery into the actual post content, all you have to do is remove that from the post content (not deleting images, just the part that says to display them in the post).

Regarding the images not showing up, have you assigned a featured image for your posts?

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Chris

Thanks for your reply, Chris. After reading the theme's description, I assumed that I would be able to just switch from my old theme to B+M and it would just work. I missed the part that said it wouldn't...

Anyway, if I have to re-upload all of my photo posts, I guess that is what I will have to do. I assigned a logo image and assigned the menu page options like you recommended. My posts are finally not showing up in gallery form on the homepage. However, the posts are missing the images (the whole point of the blog). How do I create a new post with an image attached to it, without just inserting the image into the post content? Right now, all I see is a gallery of image titles on my home page. Also, auto loading scrolling function does not appear to be working.

Thanks again for your time and help.

Hi there,

It doesn't look like you've finished setting up the theme...

Please review the theme options panel and fill in the necessary fields. It looks like you still need to assign a logo image in the theme options and assign a menu on the menus page.

For fresh sites (with no existing content), Brick+Mason requires little effort creating posts, but if you're updating your theme from a previous theme (and have existing content), there's some adjustments you need to make...

Previously you needed to insert the images you want to display into the post content area after you uploaded them. You don't have to do that anymore. Simply uploading the images to the post is all you have to do now. The gallery effect will all be taken care of for you. If you have posts with images inserted into the post content, you need to visit those posts and remove the images from the content area.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks!

Chris

Hello,
I just purchased and installed the Brick + Mason theme to create a photo album of my son. The default standard WP theme worked fine. I then downloaded, installed, and activated the B+M theme and basically, it rendered my photoblog useless. I am 95% sure it installed correctly, as I can see the giant "+" for the menu bar on the top right hand corner, and all the back end options (light vs. dark, etc.) are there, just my photos are not showing up on the live site. Plus, my live site is not very very slow. Lastly, when I look at each of my posts/photos in the WP dashboard, all of my individual images are now 'galleries'. I can click on each individual post, and see the image, but I don't see the beautiful pinterest like photo collage homepage. Here are examples:

http://tylerrodriguez.net/ (homepage)
http://tylerrodriguez.net/2013/05/11/three-amigos/ (an individual post)

Very disappointed. Hoping someone can help me get this up and running or give me money back so I can try another theme that will work.

Thanks!

Eric
