Primarily I can repeat issue with numerous different elements if used as 'last element' in the sidebar; specifically to trigger last widget sticky. So, if you run into this with something other than Adsense, it may be a javascript conflict between the element you're using "last" in sidebar (try moving to top or middle, see if it fixes it) - and the sticky function. Presumably if you were not that into the sticky, you might be able to strip out that code/function (advanced users), then be able to use a java element as bottom in sidebar. If none of that made sense, worth paying for the custom coding, since overall still cheaper than a designer (e.g., license for theme + custom code work, 1/10th price of good designer doing from scratch! 10 years ago we would charge $2K to do a site like this, so be aware of that... awesome value here!). :-)

AH... in my case it does appear to be related to javascript and the AdSense code. Some ads cause both homepage blue fly-ins of news items AND the breadcrumbs to forever stop in "loading" and not render, exclusively in IE9. In my case, a plugin placed into the widgets area, caused issue. Removing plugin/widget, no problems with adsense banner in top header with code inserted directly into template (replacing element in 'advertising'). Won't pollute this topic with too much, just trying to pass along stuff, while sorting out my own probs this weekend.

On our test site, after adding two adsense boxes, the breadcrumbs AND front page sliders of related stories do seem to "time out" (rotating loading .... loading ... loading...) in IE9 (Win7/64bit); but not a problem with Chrome or on iPad (although why Chrome/Windows and Safari on iPad has Serif story fonts, and IE has sans-serif fonts, is also one I'm still sorting out here today...weird?). Might be the dread jquery loading twice issue in WP. Checking now to see if conflicting plugin or if entirely related to the AdSense code mucking with JavaScript in IE9.
