Hi there,

Unfortunately Jet Pack is a mess - especially with premium themes that have a lot of scripting and AJAX going on. As a result, I'm not able to troubleshoot issues related to plugins as it doesn't involve code I wrote.

Unfortunately I don't have any good recommendations for plugins as I primarily focus on building features into the theme without the need of plugins.

My best recommendation is just to try plugins until you find something you like (and is compatible etc.).

Brick+Mason and the Jetpack plugin do not behave well together. (I blame Jetpack--a consistent problem with many themes.) For B+M in particular, the problem I have is that it very inconsistently does B+M's photo galleries. Sometimes, it will link directly to the photo when you click it, and sometimes it'll actually open the gallery correctly. It's hit or miss with no real rhyme or reason why it happens one way or another.

I'm going to dig through the B+M code to see if it's using an older jQuery library, and try to find a way to update to the current one Jetpack uses. It might not help, but I'm out of ideas on this.

Assuming that doesn't go anywhere, I would like to ditch Jetpack. The only thing I REALLY use it for is wordpress.com stats. However, I've installed Mint and might just drop the wordpress stats entirely at this point just so I can be free of the constant issues it has with many themes. But I also use Jetpack's Publicize function to auto post to social networks, and to add the "Share this" icons at the bottom of each of my posts. That's it. I don't use any of the other junk in the bloated Jetpack. But the Publicize feature is quite valuable for me, so I need to find a replacement before letting Jetpack go.

So a couple related questions...

1. Have you found any ways to solve the gallery incompatibility with Jetpack? If you have a fix, that'd be my fastest and preferred solution at this point.

2. Do you have any recommendations for the best way to implement a "Share this" type function? Or more specifically any particular plugins you would recommend looking at to accomplish this, which you know to not have any compatibility issues with B+M?
