Hi there,

I see you're using a page template for your front page. This edit won't work for page templates as WordPress doesn't display latest posts on pages like that. You need to use the "latest post" option for the front page (on the reading settings page in dashboard) and use my above edits in index.php.

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Chris

Hi Chris
Yes, that worked, kind of, thank you. The only thing is that it appears to pull in the latest post from the page itself. I recreated the home page as /front/ (http://sidefest.co.uk/front/) and that is the post that it has created in the area where the blog post should be. I'm sure it's a simple tweak in the code to make it pull in from the blog, or events, but I'm not sure where I should be tinkering. I'd be grateful for any guidance.
Many thanks
Vicky

Hi there,

Yes, I recall you asking that question before purchasing. Just to clarify, displaying your latest posts is different than displaying by category. Displaying by category and having multiple post listings goes beyond what I can provide.

If you just want to display latest posts, here are the steps you need to take...

1. Open up archive.php and copy lines 3-67 (basically the whole page, except for the "
<?php get_header();?>
" part at the top).

2. Open index.php and replace lines 18-23 with the code you copied in step 1.

3. Change line 16 from this...

<?php }

...to this...

<?php } ?>

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Chris

Hi
I'm wanting to display blog posts on the home page rather than the calendar. I saw that someone asked something similar in a forum post a while back: http://www.themolitor.com/forums/topic/change-home-page-from-calender-view-to-post-view#post-10205 but it doesn't really answer my question. I did post this as a pre-sales question prior to buying the theme, and it didn't look as though it would be an issue. I'd be grateful for any direction. Ideally, I'd like to be able to have the latest posts displayed by category, eg. latest interview, latest podcast etc (obviously, these are all categories which I've created already).
Many thanks
Vicky
