Well, I've done what is suggested in this link to exclude the blog category and seems to work well.

Hi, I'm not using the blog that this theme offers. But I read in another post of this forum you saying:

"Be sure to create a blog category (even if you don't plan to use it) and specify the blog category on the customize page: "appearance" > "customize". This will prevent the theme from treating your category pages like a blog because it will know you have a specific blog category assigned".

I've created a blog category, but if you don't create a post assigned to this category, the blog category doesn't show up under the drop down 'Blog Category' in the Appearance / Themes options. So I've created a 'fake' post assigned to the blog category, but what happens is that this fake post appears in the widget 'Recent Posts'.

How can I fix it?
