On individual post pages, the middle column background opacity is controlled like this...

.post {background:rgba(0, 0, 0, .85);}

What's the css code to have that lower opacity black background in the middle column? So instead of having a featured image, it just displays the box with the background of the other columns?

I've tried using a table (which Wordpress is horrible with), moving around css code in the stylesheet, etc. but I can't figure it out.
