Hi there,

1. Navigate to the post/page edit screen for the post/page you want to have audio.

2. Click "add media" on that edit page.

3. Upload the audio from the pop-up that appears.

4. Once the upload completes, you're finished. The audio file is now attached to the post/page.

To remove audio, you can do that from the "add media" pop-up or you can locate the audio from the main media library.

To change the order, you can click "uploaded to this post" in the drop down: http://s9.postimage.org/gpfowj0qn/Screen_Shot_2012_12_26_at_10_47_02_AM.png

After that, you can click and drag the music files to change their order.

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Christopher

Please use the correct WordPress nomenclature; i.e., I do not see an 'insert into page' link or button to click. Moreover, as there is no visibly-labeled audio file upload link, button or other, I do not understand what you mean by, "just upload the audio files and that's it." What do I click—specifically—to upload the audio files, and to where do I upload them? As far as adding media files to pages/posts within your theme, I see only the standard 'Add Media' button in the upper-left quadrant of the Edit Page/Post page, atop the main page content text field, and the 'Set featured image' link in the lower-right quadrant of the respective page. I do not see any upload buttons/links labeled for audio files. Will you please detail the step-by-step process involved in uploading and attaching specific audio files to a page/post, using the correct names of all related links, buttons, etc. Thank you kindly.

Hi there,

It sounds like you already have the audio files uploaded, which means they are not attached to the post/page.

You need to upload them from the edit page for the page/post you want them to display on. Do not click "insert into page". Just upload the audio files and that's it. Once the upload is complete, you're done.

Best,

Christopher

I have read your instructions, but I do not understand the process to attach audio files to a page or post.

Here's what I am doing:
1) When I'm in Edit Page mode I click the Add Media button. I am taken to the Insert Media area.
2) I click-to-select the various mp3 files I want to attach to my page and click the Insert Into Page button.
3) The various and respective [audio mp3] shortcodes are automatically inserted into the body area of my page.
4) I click the Update button and then the View Page link.

The webpage loads and the list of audio tracks display for a blink-of-time within the page and then disappear. None of the mp3s yield audio players, not yours nor the ones that the WordPress shortcodes create (which I don't want anyway).

Note: I am using pages, not posts to build my site.

Please advise. Thank you.

Hi there,

You do not need to insert any shortcodes into the post/page content, so try one more time without inserting shortcodes and let me know if that helps.

Best,

After updating WordPress to 4.3.1, I use the Add Media button to insert audio files into the page body area as shortcodes, click Update to save the page, and the audio files become automatically inserted in the Custom Fields area below. However, when I delete the shortcodes from the page body area, so they won't show in the body of the page, the files also become deleted from the Custom Fields below. Please advise. Thank you.
