Hi there,

Thanks for following up!

The size of the video is determined by the styling in responsive.css. There are various sizes in the responsive.css that determine the size of the video. If you want to explore changing the video for various sizes, you'll need to add additional styling there.

Hope that helps.

Best,

Chris

Thanks Chris, here's update, I adjusted the iframe call to 640x360 size instead of 900x506 and it is now functioning from my service, so, it appears that the dimensions in the iframe code was causing the fits on Producer, but not with other templates I tried, and I have no idea why it suddenly stopped working other that something to do with ios8.

What’s weird is that I checked into your hunch, then if it's service provider then theoretically this embed shouldn't work but you’ll see that the issue isn’t appearing on this on the iPad. http://avpfilms.com/embed.html

What is strange is that the larger size embed code did work in other templates, and the embed as shown but the smaller size solved the problem with Producer for now.

So far, I haven't been able to duplicate on other templates I’d activate to see what I was seeing with Producer so, I think there still might be an issue now with IOS8, but for now, problem solved.

Back to the resizing the frame, I noticed when I would open the embed test html above on my iPad and iPhone that the embeds would resize when rotated, both iPad and iPhone, I’m wondering if you have any thoughts on how we could make the video frame react the same way? I’ll try the suggestion you put above later, but somehow the browser is doing it with just the .html. I don’t know enough about coding to drill in, so thought I’d just ask.

Thanks again for your help Chris!

Hi there,

I tested the demo site with iOS8 on my iPad and didn't experience this issue. When I visit your site, I only see this occur with the video on the home page. Other videos on your site don't seem to have this issue, which makes me think that the problem is with the service provider. Have you tried showing that video with a service like Vimeo or YouTube?

Best,

Chris

Thanks Chris, I'll try that later, there's another issue that has been showing up, since IOS 8 and that is that the video is only loading , slipped halfway into the frame and isn't showing a player. Here's a link to a screenshot from iPad mini on IOS8 http://avpfilms.com/molitor/IMG_0247.jpg

I also checked it on Retina iPad, running IOS8 same deal. Both return same deal when refreshing, empty cache refresh etc. If user tries to play, the video plays but, only top half on the lower part of the frame and there are no controls to stop or go full size. Scratching my head because there were no issues up until the latest mac update 10.9.5 and IOS8. My troublesome feeds in question are coming from Creative Cow, but, never had any issue whatsoever up until last few days. Please advise, Thanks!

Hi there,

Calculating the proper video size to display is difficult because screen dimensions vary so much. The current styling is the best option I could find. If you open up responsive.css in the theme folder, you'll see the following on lines 71-78...

#video {
    position: relative;
    padding-bottom: 56.25%;
    padding-top: 30px;
    width: 90%;
    height: 0;
    overflow: hidden;
}

You can adjust the styling for your responsive videos there if you want to try something else.

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Chris

Hello, experiencing a bit of fussiness in v 1.3.2 and 1.3.3 the aspect ratio on video changes from 16:9 to 4:3 letterbox in responsive device sizes. You can see what it's doing here http://avpfilms.com.

After IOS8 upgrade, on iPad and iPhone, not only do those videos get letterboxes but, in some cases are slipped out of the window and the player is not showing up.

Please advise thanks.
