To change the permalink settings, log into your WordPress dashboard. Under the "settings" menu on the left, click "permalinks". Then select the "month and name" option and save your changes.

I am sorry Chris i am sure your suggestion will help but as stated i am a complete newbie i have no clue how to do that at all. I have just been trying to read up and learn at the same time. So any instructions on how to do that would be extremely useful. Thank you.

Thanks for providing the link!

Just to clarify, you need to create a main category (i.e. "Events") with child categories and then assign the main category as your events category on the Customize page.

Also, be sure to use the "Month and name" setting on the permalinks settings page.

Hello chris i meant on the home page on the calender on my website http://www.slsevents.co.uk, you can see text within the boxes instead of being aligned on the black bar. I don't know how to phrase my question correctly as i am a word press newbie.
