Hi there,

The cost is indicated by the amount of work required for the customization you need. Clearly the quote indicates your needed customizations are not quick and easy and require a good amount of work (i.e. not minor).

Please understand I don't have the bandwidth to make a one-time customization that nobody else is asking for that requires a significant amount of research, testing and custom code.

Best,

Chris

You know, it might be helpful to indicate to those you send to customization that even minor customization costs an arm and a leg when compared to the cost of the theme. I was expecting to be charged, not bushwhacked. The quoted cost to edit this theme with the required code to change banners on all pages (rotating banners would have done fine - there are free plugins available for this) was 1200 dollars... and that wasn't even a final quote!!!

The theme has already been developed (by you), and the requested edit could have eventually served to upgrade the theme for everyone's benefit. I know everyone likes eating steak every once in awhile, but 1200 buys the whole friggin' cow! Just my 2 cents worth of disappointed wisdom... a word to the wise would be to have your whole theme designed from scratch - it's cheaper!

I am a sad camper, Chris...

Hi there,

Customizations are handled by the Werkpress team. I recommend submitting a request so they can provide you with those details (i.e. cost, time, etc.).

Hi there,

That is not a supported feature of the theme, so it would require custom code to achieve. For edits like this, please submit a customization request: http://themolitor.com/custom

Thanks!

Hi there,

The plugin mentioned only restricts where widgets appear, so you need to create a widget for each unique item you want to display.

Hey paytonc359 - I just checked, and like Chris said, the widget allows us to place it (meaning the ability to change ads) on each page, as desired. The control for this configuration is at the bottom of the widget window. So download the widget and follow the instructions. It should be fairly simple, but if you're still having trouble, i'm sure Chris can explain how to do it properly. First thing is to download and install the widget - then activate it. Once that is done, place it into the right hand column and read the instructions. Here's the link again : http://wordpress.org/plugins/display-widgets/

Good luck! ;-)

Hi,

Like Chris said, this little plugin allows us to place multiple ads in the right hand column, but I need to ask Chris how to change the ads on the different pages, The plugin doesn't offer that option, so Chris, if you read this, maybe you can tell us how to do this?

@Docscribble - Do you have more than one ad in each position on your site? I'm trying to get more than one ad in each space, on the Daily Press theme and am having trouble. I downloaded 'AdSanity' plug in hoping that would solve it but still having trouble. Do you have any experience with this?

Hi there,

There's a handy plugin called "Display Widgets" that hides widgets on specified pages. It adds checkboxes to each widget to either show or hide it on every site page. --> http://wordpress.org/plugins/display-widgets/

OK... I figured that one out... but how can I make different ads appear on different pages or posts? Some clients might better appreciate an accompanying ad on a given page... especially if the article (post) on that particular page is made in reference to them. So, how can I post different ads on different pages?

Thanks for your consideration, Chris. Your time and dedication is much appreciated.

The advertising tab only allows the placement of ads in the header and footer sections. How do I add them in the right hand column, like in the demo?
