You can create new categories two different ways. The easiest is on the edit page for new posts. On the right hand side, where you assign categories, there's an "Add new category" link and you can add new categories right there.

Then just visit the theme options page and add the name of the new category to the appropriate text field so that it appears on the home page.

First, let me state as have others, that this is just a great theme. I've been using it for a couple of days but am not real experienced in WordPress. So this is probably more of a WordPress question. How can I add a new section that is actually a category where the landing page presents recent posts like the (dummy content) Featured or News pages ... as opposed to a regular page? I am looking to do something like "/category/services/". Any help is appreciated!
