Great! I get it now.. was thinking you had to create a page first then put the category posts on the page somehow. Got my head around it!

Thank you :)

That's super simple! Do this:

1) Go to Appearance > Menus
2) In the section where you "Add to Menu" select the "News" Category and select Add to Menu
3) You'll see the News item add to the bottom of your menu setup.
4) Arrange that link in the Menu where you want it to appear
5) Save your Menu

After that, begin adding News posts to that Category and they should display just like the demo!

Good luck,
Justin

Hi, I don't think I'm on the right track but The Molitor said to 'add categories to the menu'... so I have created a menu and added the category 'news' (which are my news posts) - I thought this might be the first step to getting a separate page with news items??

Just to reiterate, I wanted to create a page with news items posts that is separate from the home page - like this http://themes.themolitor.com/wpaid/category/news/ I thought this would be simple but can't work it out.

Thank you

When you say "link your categories to the page I want" I'm not sure what that means?

Hi,

I am having trouble understanding how to do this also. I want to create another 'News archive' page/'old news' page and have created a new Menu with the category of which those news items exist (as suggested above). Now how to I link these categories to the page I want?

Thanks in advance :)

I responded to your comment on TF, but I'll re-post my response here...

"You can add categories to the menu. On the “menus” page, there is a category box where you can add all the categories you’ve created."

Hey Molitor, I posted this on the comments section of the theme on TF, I wasn't sure what you look at more. This is an amazing theme! I’m finding it incredibly easy to work with right now. We’ve been waiting to re-launch a clients site for a while now and as soon as I saw you release this we couldn’t wait any longer.

Anyways, I’ve got a question regarding site templates and blog posts.
On the demo site, you have the homepage bringing in posts from the category ‘breaking news’ but you also have a separate news page which lists the breaking news category and its parent category ‘news’.

How can I make a separate news/blog page? The only page templates I see are default, two column, and full. Is there a blog template page or a way to create a page that displays only posts from a certain category in addition to the homepage? Do I need to add a custom field to the page?

Let me know, thanks.
