Category pages are primarily managed from the "archive.php" page template.

WordPress conditional statements are helpful for this customization as well: http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags

Understandable! Where can I find the code defining the category page structure? Is it within the CSS style sheet? I'll give it a go..

I'd like to add a unique banner image just above the gallery when viewing a category page. Is there a bit of code I could call up that would look for a prescribed image at the top of the page between the menu bar and the gallery? Maybe something like looking for a "category_banner.jpg"?

Thanks for any help or direction to look in order to execute this!
