Hi there,

Everything is properly setup in the .POT file. Unfortunately I don't know the details for actually translating a theme as I've never done it myself (I only speak English). I only know what is required as a theme developer to make a theme "translation ready".

This theme has been thoroughly checked by myself, ThemeForest reviewers and theme check plugins for any issues. I can confirm the theme is properly setup for translation.

My best suggestion is to review online tutorials for translating themes using a .POT file.

I'm really sorry I can't provide more details or support on this, but translating the theme is considered a customization.

I hope you understand my limitations.

Best,

Chris

Hi Again Chris, Sorry for the late answer.. i have been on vacation.. Vamos ala playa ohohoho.

Any hows. To the problem, i will give you this picture to explain it. I have tried to use different plugins to solve the problem but nothing wanna work :/

http://www.rotfrukter.nu/RANDOMPAGE123CAKE then we get this

http://s17.postimg.org/cyn0w255r/Lang.png

That's my problem really, its not the search bar only. Also if i remove the .pot file from the languages map inside themes/kitchen. Nothing happens to the page ? Where does the .POT gets it indexing from ? :( As i mentioned before i have tried to edit it to SWE but no win. Do i need to reload the database or something.. ?

To put this down easy, if you open your .POT(With POEDIT Example) file inside kitchen/languages everything in that is not translating.

Hope we can solve this :P Since i love everything else with the theme.

Have a great day!

Hi there,

I'm not sure why the "Search Site" isn't translating if everything else is. It's being handled properly in the POT file and I don't see any errors.

My best suggestion for that is to manually adjust it if you're choosing not to use a plugin. It's located on line 6 of the searchform.php file...

<input type="text" value="<?php _e('Search Site','themolitor');?>" onfocus="this.value=''; this.onfocus=null;" name="s" class="searchText" />

Just change the text there to whatever you want. Since you're changing it manually, you can remove the php part and just have plain text. In other words, change the following from this...

<?php _e('Search Site','themolitor');?>

...to this...

Sök

Regarding the printing, I went to that page, clicked the comments tab and then clicked "print" and didn't see any comment info show up in the print preview. Did you resolve this?

Let me know.

Best,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Iam not working on it locally, i just gave you a dummiesite to explain my problem. Here is the proper site that iam working on right now. http://www.rotfrukter.nu

So when you enter the site you can see the search bar to the left, it says "Search Site". This should be in Swedish as i mentioned before. Anyhow, i have found that everything that i need to get to Swedish is inside that pot file you get with the addon. (Path themes\kitchen\languages)

The theme somehow gets the information from this file(I think). I don't now how it gets the information from the pot file but if you open it i can see all the lines that are incorrect are inside this file. I have tried to edit this file but i get no success by doing so. I must rename it to ktichen.po to be able to open it. But when i save it after editing and replace the old .pot it still doesn't change.

About WPML, i don't want to use a translation tool if not needed. Its such a small part that are incorrect on the site. And i think there should be some kind of solution to this POT edit :D But in worst case i might have to. :/

OT.

While i got your attention, i wont use the login/register part of the site, i want to make it open for all who wants to have a look. I have a small problem when i add a comment for facebook under the the recipes example http://www.rotfrukter.nu/ort-rostade-rotfrukter-i-ugn/ then you press print. The printing part gets the comments section also :P That really sucks since if you have for example 10 comments you get an extra page of printing. I want to make it as simple as possible for the users.

Any advice on the printing problem ?

Thanks for all the help Chris, hope im not being to painful :P

Have a great day!

Hi there,

Thanks for the nice remarks! I'm glad you like the theme :-)

I see you're working on this site locally, so the link you provided doesn't load anything for me. Can you put the site on a live domain? If so, I'll be happy to check it out.

Regarding translations, I haven't actually translated a theme before (I only speak English), so I'm only aware of what is required in order to make the theme "translation ready".

Most users use a plugin like WPML to translate their themes into another language. There are others out there as well.

Let me know.

Best,

Hey Chris!

First of all MR!!! I just want to say... AWESOME THEME! Gr8 Work, I-High5.

I do have a minor problem tho, i have searched in the forums and tried to get a answer for my problem but no luck :(

Anyhow, the problem is that i have the site in 95% Swedish, some of the content wont change. For example if i go http://www.website.se/incorrectinformation i get 404 Error - Page Not Found The page you were looking for does not exist.

That should be in SWE <- Also "Search Site" Should be "Sök"

I have tried to edit the pot-file inside C:\WampDeveloper\Websites\WEBSITE\webroot\wp-content\themes\kitchen\languages but i dont get any changes ? Iam no expert in wordpress or .pot :/

Do i need to edit this inside the code itself ?

Do you have any advice to give ?

Br
Rob
