Hi Chris,

Thank you for all your help with this. Your list did work in the end for inserting images.

One more question, if I may, is regarding the images which are now displayed in the post;
They seem to be restricted in size to 300px and I can't for the life of me figure out where this restriction is set (example: http://petekingston.com/pozition/) In the example, the second image is restricted to a width of 300px, which I would like to change.

I've tested this on the latest version of WordPress and have no issues. Just to reiterate...

1. Create a new post.
2. Upload images to that post.
3. DO NOT click insert after upload - just close the box.
4. Publish the post.
5. View page with gallery on the right.

I just tested this and everything is working as it should, so I can't really say what the issue is. Let me know if that helps.

Hi Chris,

Still doesn't work. When I click "Add Media" and 'tick' the image I want (or upload a new one), the only option after that with the new Wordpress is to press the "Insert into post" button or close the 'Add Media' window.

At the moment, the only way I can add images to the post is by changing the featured image, when I remove the featured image and upload a new one, it adds the old one to the post in the correct location.

Hmmm... it doesn't sound like they are attaching to the post, which is odd. Be sure not to click "add to media".

Try creating a new post and just upload the images without inserting anything. Let me know if that makes a difference for you.

Hi Chris,

Yeah through the post:
• Edit Post
• Add Media
- Upload
- Tick
• Add to Media (only button available)

Then it inserts it into the post - which adds it to the left column.
The only way I have managed to add images to the page in the right hand section, is to add them as the featured image, then replace the featured image each time which keeps them in the gallery on the page.

Do not insert images into the post. After they are uploaded, they should appear on the right automatically.

Are you uploading images from the post you want them to appear in? In other words, do not upload new media from the media page, but from the post edit page.

Hi Chris,

That's the problem, with WP 3.5, the images are inserted into the post (as an anchor image) and causes problems on the page:

It adds the image in the side bar rather than attaching it as a gallery and using the theme to position it in the main section on the right. It worked absolutely fine before I updated to WP 3.5 via "Add Media".

Hi there,

To attach images to a post, all you have to do is upload the images from the post edit screen by clicking "add media". After they are uploaded, that's it. You don't have to do anything else ;-)

Hi Guys,

I seem to be having an issue with Wordpress 3.5 and inserting images into new posts (Brick + Mason.)

The new media management only seems to allow me to inser images into the post and not 'attach' the images to the post so that the theme can create the cascade image gallery.

There only seems to be the 'Add Media' button and within that, any images selected only then give me the option to 'Insert into post'.
