Molitor
I want to thank you both for the assistance and the active improvements to the Navigator theme. With your guidance I learned to backup MySQL database and go through the theme upgrade process. From here on it'll be a lot easier to maintain my Navigator theme based site.

One new feature in v1.5 that I particularly appreciated with the ability to insert captions under each photo in a gallery. The bad news so far is that it's not been all that intuitive to figure out how to go back and add captions to the many photos up there now. I will post questions about this issue for me in a new thread later on.

Thanks much for the help

Hi there,

I recommend checking what backup services are provided by your hosting provider. If they don't have anything available, I'm sure you can ask them what they recommend for making back ups of your website files and database(s).

Thanks!

Chris

Thanks much for the quick reply.
I had been noting down the many updates to the Navigator theme with much appreciation for you keeping it viable and current plus I reviewed the update FAQ a ways back.

What has me a bit unnerved about going ahead with a theme update was my lack of understanding on how to back up both the MySQL database and website contents, categories, tags, etc. I get the method of using the WP export tool to back up posts, categories & tags, which I use often, but I do not understand what crucial aspects of the Navigator site may not be protected using the quick "Export" tool method?

I will re read all your FAQs and try to move forward on an update to your theme.

Hi there,

The theme has since been updated and no longer requires the OptionTree plugin to be installed (because of the issues involved with the plugin updates). You can grab the latest version of the theme from your downloads page on ThemeForest.

For more info about updating, please review this FAQ: http://www.themolitor.com/forums/topic/faq-how-do-i-update-my-theme

Thanks!

I was online updating my ZCARWORLD.COM site via the Dashboard that is setup with the WP/Navigator theme (v1.1 purchased in July?) when I saw that the Option Tree plugin needed an update. I ran the update, which I thought was successful, but as soon as I clicked on another Dashboard menu category a totally blank white web page replaced the WP Dashboard view in my Safari browser. Now I can not view or log back into my WP admin page running the Navigator theme.

How can I get my WP Admin (Dashboard) panel to reappear? No login box shows - nothing but a blank white page in my browser.

Obviously, I am in need of a prompt reply if you have the time.
