Thanks I have done what you have instructed but I actually want to place the buttons within the top menu on the right hand side directly next to the directional arrows.

Currently the above solution codes the button below the left menu.

Looking forward to your response.

Hello,

so the html to wrap around that is all generated by WordPress, you need to open the header.php on line 72 and replace
this

'
<?php wp_nav_menu(array('theme_location' => 'main', 'container_id' => 'topBanner', 'menu_id' => 'navigation', 'fallback_cb' => false)); ?>
'
with
'
<div id="topBanner">
<?php wp_nav_menu(array('theme_location' => 'main', 'container' => 'false', 'menu_id' => 'navigation', 'fallback_cb' => false)); ?>

</div>
'

then you'll be able to add the like code in-between that div

Hi Justin - the categories are:

self series
on fabric
on paper
after others
about
archive

(each space is replaced with a dash in the slug)

I revised the menus to display categories rather than pages. It fixes the selection (so it doesn't just include everything), but it doesn't have the nice side slider portfolio format, so would be nicer if it would work with pages.

I have a page using the portfolio template and a category slug "indoor" with 2 posts. but the page is pulling all posts, ignoring the category.
If i give it another slug like "drawings" it works. what could be wrong?

http://robertschad.eu/sculptures/indoor-spaces/

If i open the category all is fine:
http://robertschad.eu/category/indoor/

My permalink is "/%postname%/".

I found that the problem arises once i start renaming categories.

Afraid I'm having a similar issue. I created various pages, used portfolio template and have filled the slug field coincident with post category: just the first created appears with thumbnails, the rest have a list of posts.
Am I missing something?

Hi.

I am having difficulty with making posts specific to each portfolio page. I have been creating "dummy" categories ("dummy" as in creating a category, but listing its corresponding portfolio page in the menus) in which to organize my post. However, posts are not remaining specific to the category I place them in.

More specifically, when I create a portfolio page for a category, the portfolio page pretty much ends up in the same format, even if I have tried making sure each portfolio page corresponds to a specific category? Can you help me?
