Hi,

I am on our new website for our university and wanted to implement the Event Widget on the homepage just as it is in the demo version of the theme.
When i add the calender widget in the home page area, it just looks like the ordinary calender but not as the list of the next e.g. 3 events.

How do I change it?

I recently noticed that the date is incorrectly showing on my site. It's visible here: http://ots-sdchc.org. I've looked everywhere on the web and can't find anything, just hoping you might have a lead. Called the host provider, nothing there. I read some threads about some stats plugin, but I don't even have that installed. This used to display properly, and now all of a sudden, its a day ahead. Under general, settings for wordpress, the timezone and date is correctly displayed. I've reset these options and still nothing. Any ideas?

This worked fine until recently... not sure what happened. But now, when I add a featured image to the home page slider, the image does not load when you click on the sidebar. go to schoolnutrition-ms.org to see what I mean.

Can the body width increase? (Reduce the side bar width)

I am writing with the hope you'll be willing to help with an issue I appear to be totally unable to solve on my own. I think that, for a professional, it would be a very easy one, but for me it's really not! Here's the problem.
I don't know why, but I have found that, when I click on the author's name on a post and the link brings me to the author's archive, it doesn't show the author's name under the title in the list of posts by the same author/user...It was there before, now it isn't there anymore! I see the title, the excerpt, the date, but NOT the linkable author's name. When I open the post, though, the author's name is back there.
I don't know if I have inadvertently deleted some string somewhere, but now I need to have the author's name back there and I really don't know what to do and where to intervene.
Could you please help me? I think I need just a command line, but I don't know which one and where to put it in order to resolve this issue.
Thank you in advance for your attention and support (you've already proved very helpful with another theme-related issue some weeks ago and, as I am a real newbie with very little knowledge on these matters, you really saved my day!).

first, let me say I really like your University theme: it's clean and very estethically pleasing as a website must be. Keep up the good work!
I must also say that I am far from being an expert in building websites: I don't actually have any education on the matter, but I do love to learn and I like the challenge. And this challenge I have accepted!
So, with the help of some useful plugins, some logic, a great deal of stubbornness and a lot of trial and errors, I've managed to overcome some of the difficulties of building a website without being a professional (it is already online, "under construction"), but I still have trouble in addressing some crucial technical issues that I hope you will be able to clear.

Homepage/categories
For now, the site contains only 9 posts: I have been asked to put all of them in the homepage in a chronological order and, if possible, without using the categories at all (could tags be enough as reference for the posts?).
If, as I suspect, it's not possible to completely ignore the categories, is there a way to create just one category, the same for all the posts, and have all the articles chronologically displayed in the homepage? Could you please point me in the right direction?

There is also another issue I’d like to ask you about. I have disabled the comments for the website through a plugin, but I can't get rid the of all the “Comments off on + title of the post” under the title in the pages you open by clicking on a tab. Actually, I have managed to do it for the homepage by deleting the related instruction after trying for hours but I can’t figure out how to complete this task for every page.

Our web page is http://www.fjhs.ednet.ns.ca/wordpress. We would like to add, if possible, the Plugin widget "Gtranslate" to the very top of our university theme web page in the black line where the date is found along with the search option above the school banner information. Currently, we have the widget loaded in on the "body widget" part and it is working well. However, we would like to have this widget available at the top for all actions on the web page.
An example of what we would like on a web page can be seen top left of page at http://www.cpa.ednet.ns.ca/ (different widget but same idea)

The Gtranslae widget does come with the code written for editing but it suggests you just load the widget and does the work for you and works well.

Hi Chris,

On my client's (now live) website, they have asked if it's possible to remove the date from the Latest News widget in the top right of the page. They use this for specific announcements and are concerned that the post date is going to confuse people.

Is there a way to remove the date within the template? If you can point me in the right direction that would be great (and please let me know if there are any repercussions with doing this in case it impacts other areas of the site).

Hi Chris,

We are using a blue text for all links on the website I am working on (http://6a1.da7.myftpupload.com/). Due to the bottom grey background on the main image on the home page, it's a little hard to see the text.

I have the link colour set in the Customize options, so don't want to change everything throughout the site, as this blue has been chosen to match the logo. As a result, I am hoping to do one of two options (whichever is easiest), and hope to get some guidance as to which line in the style sheet I should change:

- lighten the grey in the background
- change the link text (in this area only) to white

Any guidance is appreciated.

I have our home page set up to be "Latest Posts" and I would like to replicate that on a standard page named the same. I have created a custom menu with the categories already but I am just not sure about how to get it into the page itself.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for providing me with the plugin files for the calendar you included with your theme. I have loaded the widget, which is great, and have also added the {CALENDAR} to the appropriately named page on the website I am setting up.

However, the layout is stretched at the top, and doesn't look like other websites that are using the same plugin. Everything else on the calendar looks to be fine. Can you direct me as to how/where I might fix this, as well as how to update the font being used in it?

I wonder if there is a possibility to change the date format in the image thumb of the featured articles plugin on the main page. actual there is month/day/year. I would like to have it just like in the general settings: day/month/year.

Is there a chance to syncronize the theme settings and the genral wordpress settings, or a way to change it manually?

i want to implement images in the side widget area. Now i have two plugins for this and they won't really want to work like i want it. :/
got a plugin to show pictures in an overlay when you click on them- simply gallery. i want this as well in the sidebar with single images. when i just copy the code from the content area where the overlay works in the widget area, the overlay won't work anymore. how can i do this?

Hi, me again

i have to put in some tables in the content area of the theme.
When I just do the table HTML stuff, it looks quiet terrible... fat borders, single cells just do what they want.

what code do I have to implement when I want a table with three cell wide and let me say 20 cells/columns high. But some cells have to be way longer than others (linke names are short but mails are long)

It would be great if the text wouldn't be bigger than the normal text in the content. guess I have to change that in the Stylesheet, but where?

The slider image is not changing with the selected post? The only image that displays is the most recent post for all "featured" slider posts. The post text changes, just not the featured image?

Is there a way to get different style of bullets to appear with a nested list. I have tried adding style="list-style: circle;" as well as square, but All that appears is a solid bullet.
