How would I update this library to the newest version?

Hi there,

To create a portfolio/gallery, simply create a "Portfolio" or "Gallery" category and assign posts to that category.

Currently video isn't a supported feature for the grid view, but you can embed videos in the post content area. Just think of the grid as a placeholder image for the video.

I feel like a real n00b with this question, but I am having trouble installing the HUD theme in wordpress. From the wordpress dashboard I have tried Appearance->Themes->Upload-> then uploading the themeforest-96049-hud-premium-portfolio-wordpress-theme.zip file and in a separate attempt, uploading the wphud.zip file that is inside the aforementioned .zip. Each time I get a page that says "Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again"

My host is bluehost.

Hi there,

Since the issue you're having isn't caused by the theme but by edits made to it, I can only recommend that you delete the theme and then upload the default version of the theme.

Please understand I don't have the bandwidth to troubleshoot customizations.

Sorry for posting like mad, but I just went through some free template themes I have, and then brought back your HUD and the slider changed again without me doing anything but browsing through templates. It's really important for me to fix this asap as the website is my final portfolio for Uni. I decided to buy your HUD to make it look good and avoid problems that free themes may cause but it seems I'm getting exactly what I was trying to avoid:(

I remember that I couldn't install this theme in wordpress and had to use ftp transfer which was annoying as I'm not an expert. Do you think this could cause the problem? I haven't made any changes to the slider before it appeared as it is now.

It looks like you've made changes to the slider in the template files because those are not default settings. I recommend reverting back to the default theme templates to use the default size of the slider.

In the CSS, the styling is controlled from the /*-----SLIDER STUFF----*/ section on line 481.

The size of the images is controlled from the functions.php file on line 31...

add_image_size('slider', 780, 400, TRUE);

On the post edit page for the post in your slider, you can customize the link in the "Featured Item Link" input field under "custom post options".

Back in 2011, a user named mikek2009 asked you how to change the side of the featured slider. You told him to change the CSS. He responded with "Thanks, tried to change the CSS and didn't work except for the frame/outline weight. Found that the settings were being over-riden elsewhere and solved the issue." He figured out the overrides, but I have no idea what they are! Where can I find them and undo them? He answered his own question, which is great, but it doesn't help me in the slightest :(

TL;DR: Basically I'd like to know how to increase the size of my slider, and I don't know where the overrides in the CSS are.

I have a blog on my site. Using the side menu, you can access a category page that lists all my blog posts. Ideally, I would like to be able to do the same thing in the slider, but since categories can't have featured images, I'm at a loss.

Is there any way to link the slider to a category rather than a page?

I'm hoping for help with an issue I am having embedding Twitter widgets into posts or pages in the HUD theme.

The HUD display drops to the bottom of the screen and there is no scroll bar when these are included.

Thanks for the response. I just tried your suggestions for #1 and #3 but they don't seem to be having an impact. To be sure, I tried 24px font, but to no avail. I also changed the link color.

Other than making those substitutions and pressing "update fil"e should I being doing anything else?

Hi there,

1. It is subtle, but non-link text is a bit darker than link text. You can increase the difference by opening "style.css" and changing the body color on line 43 from this...

color:#ccc;

to ths

color:#aaa;

That will increase the contrast of links and text.

2. You'll need to make a good amount of edits to the style.css file for that. I would just be a matter of changing everything dark to light and light to dark. If you need help with this customization, please use this form: http://themolitor.com/custom

3. Yes, you can increase font size in style.css. For example, to increase paragraph font size, change the following on line 49 from this...

p {font-size: 12px;}

to this

p {font-size: 14px;}
