PS I have installed the demo content.

Have installed Church and the demo content. Rather than the right column accordion style menu shown on the demo site I get a bulleted list without any indentation for sub-menu items. The bulleted list also overlaps the content area. The problem can be seen at http://new.stanps.ca/ Note: I have not installed the demo data at that location, just on my Ampps stack installation but the installation of the demo data did not change that menu.

In the latest version of the Church theme (6.0) I am not finding a setting anywhere that keeps any of the widgets open. Is editing code the only way to do this? Thanks

follow-up: I got the Menu to show up in the header by changing the menu's name to Main.

I can't seem to manage Menu Locations. I have created a custom menu, but cannot figure out how to put it in my header. Site is at lbc-rs.org. Thanks

Let me revise my last suggestion.. I realized it's because you don't appear to have a color setting applied. Try visiting the theme options page and review the color options you have applied. Maybe try changing that and see if it has an impact.

Hello again,

I went to visit my site which has this theme installed (wp-church) and the header image isn't showing. However, it does show when i am in the theme customizer ("[mywebsite.com]/wp-admin/customize.php?theme=wpchurch&return=......."). Why is this. I've read some of the other threads and comments and understand that there may be restrictions with the provider (Bluehost in my case), but I didn't know if this theme was compatible with the most current version of Wordpress.

Hi there,

It looks like you have posts assigned to both the slider AND the categories below the slider. That's probably not the best approach as your creating duplicate content on your site.

I recommend (1) creating content specifically for the slider or (2) manually changing the section titles like this...

1. open index.php and change the following line 42 from this...

<h2><?php the_category(', ') ?></h2>

...to this...

<h2>Pastor's Blog</h2>

2. Change the following on line 67 from this...

<h2><?php the_category(', ') ?></h2>

...to this...

<h2>News & Events</h2>

We are using version 6 of the WP Church theme. Actually a child theme based on it but I have tested and I see the same behavior with the WP Church version 6 theme.

After doing some edits we are seeing two categories listed in the two sections below the feature slider.
It is showing "Featured, News and Event" and "Featured, Pastor's Blog". I can change either section to a category other than "News & Events" or "Pastor's Blog" and it will just show the one category I set it to.

Again, this began after I was doing some post edits, changing the category on some posts...Can't trace it back to a particular change.

Any idea what might be going on?

You can do this by changing the width of the sidebar. Here's the current width styling...

#sidebar {
    width: 280px;
}

You can copy/paste that into the Custom CSS box on the Customize page and make changes to it there.
