I followed the instructions on making an API so that I can use google maps on the homepage, but when I enter the API in Map Settings on Wordpress and press Publish, nothing shows up. The entire background is completely blank. What is the complete API setup process? Did I miss out on something?

Hi there, we had this theme in use since 2013 for our site FindaSpring.com and we just recently update to the latest version mainly because the Google Map API change.. Got the style customized again and set it all up, was mostly happy after the dust settled, however now all the posts with locations are no longer showing the longitude/latitude in the post meta, and we had hundreds over the years, and now a bit worried about losing all that. Did a database backup just in case, and trying to figure out how to convert or recover that info. Also when I go to a blog category, like California, it only shows one pin point when it used to show all of them. We're a little freaked out about the potential of losing all the submissions since that's the foundation of our site.. I hope there's an easy fix, I can give you a WP admin login or the PHPMyAdmin access if that would make it easier. Thanks a lot, looking forward to getting this resolved...

When you mouse over locations on the main map, the popups are flickering. This is present in the demo here: http://premium.themolitor.com/?theme=thenavigator - this didn't happen a few weeks ago - maybe due to the recent Maps update.

As well, how to style the arrow color (the downward pointing arrow attached to the above referenced popup) via css? I cannot seem to find the selector.

1) I followed your answers to other users regarding google map enabling APIs and adding credit card and it worked very well.
After I added server name DNS (Godaddy to Bluehost) the google map not anymore working !

2) If I want to put on the map pin for each country and attach documents PDF/Image etc, what format should I use *Page or *Post as I am confused on which one is the right presentation.

Hi, I have installed the newest version of the theme to solve issues with API key. I have setup an API key, turned on the options you mention, added a credit card. But my home page shows up blank. The site is http://www.rokytnice-virtualne.cz/

The Google Map API checker says:
SUCCESS: Woohoo! This site is correctly using an API key when loading the Maps JavaScript API v3.

INFO: We could not find a visible Google Map within 2 seconds of loading the page. To optimize performance, only load the Maps JavaScript API if you plan on using the API.

Apologies - I have been inactive for some time and I'm having trouble with the new Google Maps requirements. My map was darkened and had "for development purposes only" on it. I got an API and made sure the 6 features were enabled that I found on one of your responses. I enabled a billing account. I inserted the new API in maps settings. Now all I have is a gray screen with this message: "Oops! Something went wrong.
This page didn't load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details." What am I doing wrong?

In the demo, when you click on "Blog" you get a page with a section to the left that lists all the posts and a short summary. You can then click on whichever post interests you.

I am building my site so it isn't live, so can't link to it yet. My issue is that I created a test post so I would have something to work with. However, the post doesn't show up anywhere even though it's been published. I get a blank Blog page with no posts.

It has been some time since I built a site, so I may be missing something - perhaps in the "Reading" settings?

Any help would be appreciated. I love the theme and I am eager to get working.

Google now requires that all map applications provide an API Key.

Visit this page to get an API Key

You can then enter the API Key on the Customize page under "Map Settings".

Did update Navigator from 2.2. 1 to 2.2.8 because maps didn't work, now I have no map anymore, made a Google Maps API key, ...

Try this : on the top of the address, simply add the latitude and longitude...
I thought I was goind mad, it now works fine :-)

I finally found out that your theme does not seems to work in httpS...
The console is giving me a bunch of error messages, from outdated scripts to calling google ressources in http rather than https. No wonder I am having issues :-(

BUT

when I mouse click on the menu entry GERMANY on that location menue, I would like to get a map with all entries located in Germany and the listing of them. All I get is the listing and a black background but no map.

I get the feeling that I would need to have an option for a category to decide which mapo and which zoom factor I want for that certain category but this option is not available in categories.

Hey, I have been trying to search for how to get rid of Get Directions after the post and I found someone who has mentioned that before in a post here and I followed your instructions of changing the code in line 76 in single.php but the it results with this error:

Hi, is it possible to start using one certsin category? I have tried to use redirection to the url containing the category, but then the start up page doesnt show.

I use the HTML version of The Navigator, and I want to switch to wordpress.

- Is the "Submit Location" page fully functional for sending an image as in the example (it is not working in HTML version)?

- Are the Comments functional in accordance with WordPress rules (it is not working in HTML version)?

- Can I see what does the administration in wordpress look like. Can I get an example URL for admin page? I would like to check how to add content under the Details tab, and is it the contents of a wordpress post that I can edit and format on my own?

Hello! I've noticed even in the demo that some map tools are obscured by the header and footer. This makes a few of them unusable. You can see the problem here: http://themes.themolitor.com/wpnavigator/2011/07/colosseum/

The header is hiding the "Change Map Style" and the "Full Screen" options.
The footer is hiding the "zoom out" button from street view.

This only occurs at the full width design, if you generate the mobile menu the functions are available.

Please advise and thank you for the great theme.

Do you want a dot following you on the mobile when using the navigator theme? Is doenst normally exist, but we have managed to solve this.
