Hi there,

Custom post types are not a current feature of Politico, but featured images are. When I visit your site, I can see the featured images are working in the slider as well as on the blog page. If the featured images are not working with a plugin-generated feature (i.e. custom post types, etc.), unfortunately that isn't something I have the ability to troubleshoot as it isn't a core feature of the theme.

Please let me know if you think I'm misunderstanding this issue.

Best,

Christopher

Sorry about the blank page, site is back up now.

These are absolutely not plugin generated issues. Again, the plugins work fine with the default theme, which suggests that something Politico does prevents core wordpress functionality (featured images) from working.

Hi there,

I visited the URL you provided, but it's just showing a blank page. Please double-check...

Please keep in mind support services do not include troubleshooting issues that are generated by plugins. I can appreciate that the plugins you're using work on different themes, but Politico is not guaranteed to work with all plugins. Unless there is an actual code issue with Politico (I don't see any existing issues), plugin-generated issues would need to be resolved with the plugin developers.

Best,

Christopher

I'm unable to set featured images within those two plugins mentioned. They each provide custom post types that use featured images. Turning off all plugins except each in question does not help (I need to leave one of the two on to test). Switching to Twenty Seventeen DOES resolve the problem.

So it seems as if something Politico does with featured images prevents these plugins from using featured images for custom post types.

I am trying to use two different plugins that make use of custom post types, and featured images for said types:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-client-logo-carousel/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/testimonial-rotator/

Setting featured images in both plugins is completely broken - they both behave erratically and do not ultimately let me set featured images on the posts.

Disabling all plugins does not help, but switching to Twenty Seventeen does, so it seems to be an issue with Politico.

Any ideas?

Sorry, I didn't catch that.

I see in your source code that you have the following to the top of the page...

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">

I purchased your theme as an HTML format. There is no plugins in my web site.

I think you are right. It's related to the mobile/responsive feature.

When I open the website on my phone, the screen shows a zoomed-in part of the page. The blue bar is set to the initial screen size. And when I zoom-out the whole page, I see the blue bar is shorter than what it should be. How can I make my page to be shown in the whole page initially on my phone screen?

Hi there,

I see what you mean when I visit your site URL. Your site appears to have disabled the mobile/responsive feature of the theme. This is not happening on the demo site. Looking at your source code, it doesn't look quite right there either.

Have you made edits to the theme files? If so, that may have had an impact. In order for me to troubleshoot this issue, I'll have to ask that you revert to a default setup of the theme as I'm not able to troubleshoot themes that have been customized.

If you haven't touched any of the theme files, my next suggestion is to deactivate your plugins one-by-one and check to see if that has an impact.

Let me know. Here to help.

Hi there,

You can try adjusting the featured image settings in functions.php on line 35...

set_post_thumbnail_size( 225, 225, true );

Currently the width and height is set to 225. You can adjust the values there. Keep in mind you'll need to use a plugin like "Regenerate Thumbnails" to apply your changes to images already uploaded to your database.

If you need additional help with this customization, I'll have to ask that you submit a request for custom services here: http://themolitor.com/custom

Hello,

I'm a happy costumer, compliments for your products.

I have a problem for the first time.

I bought the Politico Theme in 2013. For the first time, I would like to upgrade the theme to the latest version.

What is the best procedure to do it?

I did the following:

- rename the old folder from "wppolitico" to "oldwppolitico"
- uploaded via FTP the new folder named "wppolitico"

The problem is that with the latest version of the theme all the graphics elements (ie: the gray and blue backgrounds) looks all messed up.

If I activate again the theme that now is on the folder "oldwppolitico", the old theme stil loads properly.

Thank you.
Chris

PS: I have also upgraded Option Tree Plugin
