is there any problem in gerneral with the recent PHP versions 7+ and the Maitre'D Theme?

It appears that when i update to a newer version, my website is blank / not loading!
After dating back the PHP version the website is back again running – i have no clue!

There is no hard coding or anything (just one little snippet in custom css)...

Thanks for letting me know – otherwise i have to find the problem somewhere else.

Hello. Le Maitre d' has been a great and easy website for my restaurant for the last 5 or so years. Recently though, for one of my pages/menus, I only see a kind of asterisk instead of the Logo & Home Info that would normally be there, and which appears correctly on all other pages.

I have a serious load time as well on my homepage. I looked at the file links, looked at the file sizes, downloaded WP Super Cache. Nothing seems to work. I noticed the issue after updating my site, before the update, it loaded just fine...Not sure what I am doing or how to fix this, but client is now complaining!

Also, the site is not working well on a mobile device. I would not have purchased the theme again to update it, had I known these issues...please help...

Hello,

I set a site up using this theme and it seems to load really slowly I get a spin wheel when I visit the site.
At first I thought it might be because I had a rather large image set as the background however I reduced the file size significantly but still having the issue of a slow load time. thoughts?

Hi,

I'm experiencing an issue where once I click on a page in the menu, I am unable to navigate to another page on the site by clicking on any items in the menu. I don't see any errors in the console, so I'm rather puzzled. I have disabled all plugins.

Hello, I imported the demo content and set my home page to recent posts, but the restaurant menu does not load. The posts and categories imported successfully, so I'm not sure what the issue is. Help?

How to change the number and size of footer widgets, I'd like to show 3 not 4

The background here http://handcutdesigns.com/TangoSur/ only shows in Chrome but not in Firexox or Edge or other browsers. Opacity does not change even after modifying custom.js in the correct place.

It seems our restaurant (thecooprestaurant.com) is generating an out of date menu when searched in Google on Android devices. Your support has been great & with your hints, I have been able to adapt the theme easily (http://icecreamalchemy.com/wordpress). My question pertains to the logo which occurs on each page. Is it possible to make the logo an extended version on the home page & then have a different png graphic at the top of other pages? THANKING YOU!

This update addresses a loading issue in the Chrome browser. The update only affects the style.css file and custom.js file, so you can replace those files only if you're updating from version 1.1.0

Curious if you could point me in the right direction regarding why one page has a background image and the other doesn't. I would like the background image present on both pages. Both pages have no parent and are the default template.

I have been enjoying the wealth of information in the forum. I was curious about how to make the second menu header the same color as the top menu and then to make the text within these both white. Also, the customizer has a different view of the webpage ie the images either side of the text are visible in the customizer but not on the page. Hopefully, you can appreciate what I am referring to in the images...

Just downloaded Le Maitre d' & I thought all was going well with clear instructions. Tried to import demo content (whilst watching video) and the demo_content.xml is 2.3mb where the import is limited to 2mb. Please advise... THANKS!!!

This is the one feature that I just don't understand why it is missing from this theme. It seems pretty simple, I would like to be able to adjust the order of my menu categories. By default it lists them alphabetically (z-a). I'd like to customize the order to be Drinks, Appetizers, Entres, etc. How can we do this? Thanks, Silace

with the curent setting, blog post preview is clipped after 3 lines. How can I show a longer preview? Ideally, blog posts should only be clipped when "continue reading" has been selected.

I'm having a little difficulty figuring out why the top links aren't clickable after i click on the events link in the top menu.

For instance, I'm now on the events page, and I go to mouse over the "about" page and the "home" page and below in the far left corner of the browser I can see the designation of those links pop up, to the pages clicking them should take me, but it won't let me click. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to use the Custom Font field for this font:

Open Sans Extra Bold 800

The api code generated works fine in Safari and in the preview, but in Chrome it does not take.

Adding keyword: "Open Sans"

along with the API code has it display in Open Sans (in Chrome), but not the extra weight. I cannot find the keyword permutation anywhere which works, although it does come through in Safari and in the preview panel in Chrome.

For example, using keyword "Open Sans 800" or "Open Sans Extra Bold" or "Open Sans Extra Bold 800" all cause it to break. Where does one find the appropriate keywords to use, or for this type of thing, will specific styling be needed?

First off I would like to say that I love this theme. It's the most beautiful, cleanest, well thought out, elegant restaurant theme I have found; and i've spent many hours online trying to find the perfect one.

I'm helping my mother build a site for her new restaurant because her current website is terrible and deserves better and I'd love to know how to have multiple menus. I've figured out how to build the current drop down menu, and its awesome, but is there a way to have a second or third menu in the top menu bar to showcase a lunch and breakfast menu as well. Thanks so much!

I can imagine this has affected others, so...

On my site, the top menu is at the top of the screen, which is also where WordPress puts its toolbar when you are logged in. I have to use incognito mode for the site to function. This is not only of concern to site admins, but if you are logged into WP at all (to comment on blogs) this will be an issue.

Anyone else dealt with this?

Because one of my categories has a Ó in the title (CÓCTELES) the slug associated with that category does not exactly match and therefore the link to that category on the menu does not work. I know the code for writing Ó, or at least I think I do...but I don't know where to put it. Unlike a post, I don't have access to the HTML side of categories. I should also say I've only done front end Wordpress and have little experience with HTML coding. Any help is appreciated!
