Yet another photoshop contest that looked like fun. The task: photoshop a glass spider (below) into anything I like. My first thought was to photoshop the spider to look like the head of a predator, but I couldn’t find any good source images. Having just seen the Indiana Jones movie, I knew exactly what I was going to do instead…

After isolating the spider from the background, there was a lot of little things that I did. First was creating the crystal spider. I basically colored it turquoise and made it a little more see through. I then made a pedestal for it to sit on (all Indiana Jones artifacts have to have a pedestal, right?). After that, I messed around with lighting and added some “Indi text” to make it all official looking. I thought it would be nifty if I made an animation to show the progression of this project. Enjoy…
